Three Summer Camping Tips

Summer is here and if you are desperate to get away and be closer to nature, you might be planning a camping holiday. Here are three things to remember to make sure your break goes smoothly…

Choose the Right Campsite – There are lots of different places to camp in the UK -some have more facilities than others and campsites will vary a lot, so it is important to do your research to make sure you end up booking the right place for you. If you want to go to a wild camp, where you have just nature around you, check where this is permitted. If you want to go to a site, check the site rules and facilities – for example, if you want to take the dog, make sure you choose a pet friendly site.

Be Prepared for All Weathers – As much as we want the summer holidays to be full of sunshine, this is the UK so it can be a little on the unpredictable side! As well as having clothing and sleeping bags for the summer, take additional blankets, warm clothing like this women’s merino wool sweater, and waterproofs just in case of a downpour!

Have a First Aid Kit to Hand – When you are camping you may come into contact with all sorts of things that you might not normally encounter. Certain plants and insects can cause problems if you are unfortunate enough to encounter them, so always make sure you have a first aid kit and are aware of where the nearest medical help is in the area.
