The idea behind glamping is luxurious camping, but for those who want something more unusual and more akin to caravanning, how about staying in one of the many shepherd’s huts that have sprung up all over the UK?

1.      Skye Shepherd Huts – Bothan Buidheag & Bothan Beileag

These huts are small spaces but have everything you need. Each hut has a double bed, woodburner, electricity and even wi-fi. Located on the Isle of Skye, they are a great place to embrace the local scenery and wildlife.

2.      Three Cliffs Bay Shepherd Huts – Gower, South Wales

These huts combine coast and countryside, located on the Gower Peninsula. They come complete with personal deck and woodburning stove.

3.      Snowdonia Shepherds Huts

These shepherd’s huts in Snowdonia National Park give you a hut for living in as well as a private hut for washing. With an outdoor kitchen and firepit for cooking as well as a well equipped bathroom, these are the epitome of camping luxury.

4.      The Shepherds Hut Retreat – near Crewkerne, Somerset

5.      Lakeland Huts – National Trust Crom Estate
